Somatic exercise
Somatic exercise/movements can be a full treatment, group session, or a class or addition to massage. Somatic's retrain your muscles or muscle group by retraining your brain. Using slow, gentle, intentional movements ,and contractions to retrain the central nervous system in order to re train the affected areas of the muscular system.

Swedish relaxation
Swedish relaxation is a gentle and soothing massage that is designed to help you unwind and de-stress. It involves slow and rhythmic strokes, gentle kneading, and light pressure on the muscles

therapeutic/sport
This treatment centers around the stretching and manipulation of the muscles to focus on healing an ailment. If you suffer from sore muscles or the feeling of knots in your back, therapeutic massage techniques specifically target this discomfort to restore your body back to a tension-free state

Deep tissue
Deep tissue targets chronic tension in muscles that lie far below the body’s surface. Deep muscle techniques involve slow strokes, direct pressure or friction movements that go across the muscle grain

Prenatal
12 weeks+

Prenatal massage is similar to a Swedish massage  except for a few modifications with body positioning that can ensure the safety and comfort for both mother and baby

Cupping
Dynamic cupping is a combination of massage and the use of suction cups to improve soft tissue mobility, decrease pain, and improve range of motion in various areas of the body

The Massage Room YMM only offers in house massage treatments to women. This is a choice made for myself and my family,

however I am also available to everyone at Achieve Wellness Spa in Stone creek plaza Fort McMurray.

Everyone is encouraged to book Somatic classes online or in public spaces.

(I have a few spaces I can suggest)

I can make the arrangements. Please contact Courtney (780-370-0994)

This is a home based massage practice. I am a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) and I am currently taking courses on

Somatic Movements to become a teacher to others. This is an effective tool in any

massage therapy tool box. I appreciate the opportunity to teach and demonstrate this

form of exercise to anyone who is both curious or just looking for a possible solution or addition for your own well being.

Feel free to ask anything about Somatic's and the Thomas Hanna method, by Dr. Thomas Hannah

of the Novato Institute for Somatic Research.
